TV Okey was officially launched in March 2018 as a digital platform.TV Okey was originally launched as a test channel. The program was called Digital terrestrial television (DTT). Later, due to its popularity and ratings, the channel was upgraded to HD quality in 2019 and made into a proper television channel in 2020. 

Okey is an acronym for Opportunity, Knowledge, experience, and Yours. The main target audience of TV Okey is the urban youth of the country as well as East Malaysian communities.  

Besides Malay, the channel focused on East Malaysian languages as well such as Bajau, Duzun, Kadazan, and Ibah.
